Animation was good, and I can tell a lot of effort went into this, but what really won me over was the direction it took in the end. The clunky, charming animation really enhanced the sudden change in mood, so a job well done!

Great animation, very accessible and a memorable world I would like to revisit!
One suggestion I'd make would be to decrease the line thickness of the backgrounds, to put more emphasis on the characters/action in a scene. Otherwise 'supergreat'!

That's what you get when you're all naked and lubed up when trying this trick.
Smooth animation and stylish, a solid 3,5 stars!

A pretty nice ride, funny idea, although you can tell it was made in 3 days.
How about making this animation again, only this time, take 6 days. You already have the storyboard, now focus on making everything look a little sweeter, add some shade to the characters, some detail to the background. For example, a wooden frame around the door, and fix the '2 shades of blue' background wall! (decorations, a see-through window)
Might sound like a drag, but it'll be a great comparison, and maybe you can add some other gags while you're at it!

BSTHEDOG responds:

Well, I would consider that if I released this before Halloween but I feel it would lose its purpose of being a Halloween flash if I re -released it 6 days later. Anyways, thanks for the review!

This was truly great. The first time in a long while that I've laughed aloud while viewing anything on the internet. The 'walk home' scene had me in stitches. I guess you truly cooked the turkey on this one.
Also, way to capture a character's personality!

Takes me back to Woodstock

Remember how we all stood there, arm in arm, rocking side to side while ol' Bob laid it down for us... We were all looking forward to the weekend.

Well made!

The timing is just right, the animation is smooth and the joke is funny!
I couldn't ask for more.

ScottFalco responds:

Thank you, I love it when someone appreciates the actual animation instead of just the joke

Wonderful!

Smooth animation, and the characters really come alive!
I actually felt sorry for what happened at the ending.
Great job, not many people can create life through flash.

RiverJordan responds:

Hey thanks for the great review! I really appreciate the comment :)

Nice effort!

I've read the other reviews and know you want to stick to characters you already know and 'make them better'.
I'd advice you, however, to refrain from 'intense close ups'. Sprite Characters aren't made to be viewed up so close you can't make out any details anymore.
Sprites were specifically designed to look incredibly detailed FROM A DISTANCE, on a SNES. Keep this in mind when making a flash movie aimed at mostly Video Game Enthousiasts in 2009. (!)

Other than that, I hope your method of storytelling is pretty amazing, because there's a LOT of sprite based emerald story things to roll with.
You're going to have to be pretty awesome when it comes to the little details here!

Blank-Mage responds:

Yeah, I was planning on using close ups a bit, but it looks like I'm gonna have to get creative. (Says the fan-fiction writer, oh the irony.) Thanks for the support!

Classy!

Never underestimate the power of a good ....
Smooth animation, and I ALMOST thought the joke was a little too classy, but you got everything right in the end!
